Construction on Swiss XL: The Big Build has completed, but we'd still like to share a few more pictures with you. We recently had a drone capture several aerial shots of the new uniform building, including the 600 solar panels installed by Earthlight Solar and Energy Solutions. We won't get into the specifications of the solar panels or our solar production in this update - stay tuned for a separate post in the near future.
Hard to believe that we're up to week 41 of Swiss XL: The Big Build. The employee offices are going up, as well as electrical and lighting. The uniform building now connects to our exisitng dry cleaning facility with a finished corridor, complete with a fireproof barrier in case of emergency. Perhaps the most impressive piece of equipment is the locomotive-esque boiler. Browse the images below to see for yourself.
Week 32 of Swiss XL: The Big Build finds work on the exterior just about complete. Work has been progressing on the interior, too, with a few of the office foundation walls set in place. A majority of the interior will feature sophisticated uniform sorting equipment, storage, and other systems for more economical, accurate, and greener technologies. Stay tuned for more pictures!
Even in the cold and snowy conditions Pelletier Builders continue to work on the new Uniform Services building. We're up to week 29 of Swiss XL: The Big Build. Large bricks are being walled up, both inside and out. Bucket trucks are installing the long pieces of siding and insulation, as well.
Hard to believe that we're already into week 26 of construction on our new Uniform Services building in Rockville, CT. A lot of progress has been made as you can see. The steel beams are in place and 2 sides of the structure now have walls. A large brick facade on the lower half of the northeast wall is complete, and the southeast wall is insulated from top to bottom. Everything is still on schedule. Check back soon for more progress.
Week 19 of The Big Build. We're starting to get into the fun stuff now. Bulldozers level the ground in preparation for the cement foundation being poured next week.
Check out some of the pictures, as well as a short video on our YouTube channel.
It's starting to become more clear.
Things are moving along for Swiss XL: The Big Build. The trees have been cleared and the bulldozers have moved in, leveling the ground and hauling away the excess dirt. The large cement sewer pipes were just delivered this morning, too. It definitely looks like a construction site now!
From the onset of this construction project we have been mindful of the surrounding areas as much as possible. The row of trees between our Windsor Avenue parking lot and the new building will remain, leaving a small buffer from our facility and the street. Also, there will be a separate entrance for the Swiss Uniforms delivery trucks. Our vehicles will use Regan Road, and not Windsor Avenue.
Swiss Uniform Services Goes Extra Large.
Swiss Uniform Services has finalized plans to build a state-of-the-art uniform facility in Rockville, Connecticut. Construction gets underway in July of 2016, with Pelletier Builders taking the lead. The design for the approximately 19,000 sq. ft. building will allow for Swiss Uniform Services to more than double their capacity to sort, deliver, and store uniforms, mats, and other dust control items more efficiently. Expected to be completed in the spring of 2017, the building will feature new environmentally-friendly processes and equipment. Upon completion, Swiss Uniform Services plans to hire additional staff to help with the expected demands.
Swiss also owns and operates a full-service Dry Cleaning & Laundry Home Delivery business. The new uniform facility will connect to the dry cleaners building headquarters, located at 35 Windsor Avenue. In an effort to alleviate congestion with customer parking, an alternate parking lot entrance will be installed and used exclusively by Swiss Uniform Services delivery vehicles.
